The Royal Netherlands Embassy & KLPac are proud to present one of the finest young ensembles from the Netherlands - the Matangi String Quartet.

Aptly named after an Indian goddess who seduces her listeners with a lute, the quartet comprises four young musicians - violinists Maria-Paula Majoor and Daniel Torrico Menacho, violist Karsten Kleijer and cellist Arno van der Vuurst. The "Matangis" have performed extensively at international festivals as well as with popular Dutch artists, playing both classical and jazz repertoire. The quartet has released two CDs and a smashing single, Bats from Hell, which was hailed as a “contagious bridge between classic and pop” by Classical Affairs magazine.

The repertoire for their special one-night only performance at KLPac includes compositions by Hadyn, Mozart and Beethovan. For more information and full programme, please visit www.klpac.com.

The Matangi String Quartet is represented by Lanco Concerts.
