Valentine Willie Fine Art (September)

Rare and Important Malaysian Works From 1900 to 1994

Following the great success of our Modern Pioneers show in 2001, and Important Malaysian Works from 1940 to 1991 in 2003, we bring together another collection of Rare and Important Malaysian Works in mid-September. Drawn from key local private collections, the exhibition reveals some hidden treasures from different periods of Malaysian art history. On exhibit are key works ranging from colonial period watercolours through to seminal conceptual works of the New Scene in the 70s, covering artists such as Hoessein Enas, Cheong Soo Pieng, Nik Zainal Abidin, Chia Yu Chian, Lai Foong Moi, Chuah Thean Teng, Peter Harris, Syed Ahmad Jamal, Khoo Sui Hoe, Redza Piyadasa, Kok Yew Puah, Norma Abbas and Nirmala Shanmughalingam. This exhibition is made possible with the generous support of Plenitude Berhad.
