Jazzy Chillerz featuring Jeanie

This is Jeanie’s first gig at alexis bistro ampang and we promise you it will not be her last. Blessed with a sweet and and soothing voice and searing, she will wow you her take on standard jazzy tunes from decades ago & contemporary smooth jazz to energetic & rhythmic Latin jazz numbers. What she does with them is amazing, so make a date with her on 14 & 15 September.

Jeanie will be accompanied by Jazzy Chillerz, a group of versatile, musical and enthusiastic musicians. Clement the band leader on keyboard, Vincent on double bass, Charles on drums and Shazee on saxophone.

MICHAEL VEERAPEN Quartet
When discussing Malaysian Jazz, the name most people would associate with it would be pianist, Michael Veerapen. Together with drummer Lewis Pragasam, they organized Malaysia’s first Jazz Rock concert in 1978, which brought about a tremendous interest in Jazz especially amongst younger audiences and thereby planting the seeds for the way Jazz is loved in his country.

Graduating from the prestigious Berklee College of Music with Summa Cum Laude in 1982, Michael has traveled around the world performing in jazz festivals, concerts and has in recent times, put together several ‘Duet’ performances with his illustrious colleagues with the aim of challenging himself in the more difficult and demanding styles of jazz performance and improvisation.

He is also an accomplished composer and musical director for many top artists in Malaysia, A musician true to his art, Michael does not give many live performances, so don’t miss him Live with his Quartet at alexis on 16 & 17 of September.
